Daniel Kvammen - Vektlaus
2015 was an amazing year for Daniel Kvammen. The hit singel «Du fortenar ein som meg» and the three times Norwegian grammy nominated album, «Fremad i alle retninga», placed him on the radar for almost everyone in Norway.
The first single «Me dansar ikkje for moro skyld» is an equally upbeat and melancholic song, and it’s obvious that Kvammen and producer Even Ormestad (Jaga Jazzist, A-ha, etc) has been inspired by more electronic pop music since last time.
– The song is about the friction when an entire city meets on the dance floor at the end of a long week, looking for love. You might as well call it euphoric melancholy, says Daniel Kvammen.
And now the follow-up album is coming, where we meet an artist who’s grown even a few more notches. Kvammen has obviously developed his songwriting ability, and there’s no doubt that this is a more «poppy» album. Still, not all of the melancholy is lost on the young man, and songs like «Her kjem samtida» and «Me to var ikkje lagd for denne verden» are evoking both goosebumbs and a sad (but good) feeling.
He knows his trade, Daniel Kvammen, and with «Vektlaus» he shows that he has more than one string on his bow, and that he is to be counted upon for many years to come.
