The Northern Belle - “(Dim Down) The Christmas Lights”

…great original Christmas tunes such as ‘Dim Down (The Christmas Lights)’ by Norway’s The Northern Belle…
— Saving Country Music

Building upon the success of their recent third album We Wither, We Bloom, Nordicana frontrunners The Northern Belle are poised to release their first ever holiday single. It has become a catchy and jolly Christmas number, with nostalgic, romantic and melancholy lyrics. The song is drenched in beautiful Hardanger fiddle, with appropriate Christmas bells for the final chorus.

Cheery holiday music is always a shot in the dark, and it doesn’t always work ⏤ but ‘(Dim Down) the Christmas Lights’ floods the senses like a warm, frothy glass of eggnog. It’s sweet, romantic, and blissfully soothing.
— B-Sides & Badlands

We Wither, We Bloom was released on August 28th, and received widespread praise in both the US and the band’s native country, Norway. Outlets such as NPR - All Songs Considered, American Songwriter, Parade Magazine, Wide Open Country, Cowboys & Indians and Refinery29 have all praised the band’s unique Nordicana sound, clever lyrics and energy.
